The Foundation is deeply saddened by the No. 5 alarm fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost loved ones and to all those affected. We also pay the highest tribute to the firefighters, medical staff, and frontline personnel who have worked tirelessly in the rescue and relief efforts.
To help young people resume their learning as soon as possible, the Foundation has urgently allocated approximately HKD 4 million to provide a one-off emergency relief grant of HKD 1,000 to each full-time student residing in Wang Fuk Court. This support covers students at kindergarten, primary, secondary, and university levels and is intended to assist with immediate education-related expenses such as replacing school uniforms, books, and stationery. We hope this timely assistance will ease the burden on affected families and enable students to return to their studies as soon as possible.
The Foundation has already reached out to relevant schools and universities to coordinate arrangements. Eligible students may apply through their respective schools starting today. Once the school has verified eligibility, the grant will be disbursed promptly to meet their urgent needs.
The Foundation has always been committed to supporting young people and hopes to express our sincere care through this tangible action. We stand in solidarity with the affected students and their families, and we wish them strength as they recover and return to normal life.
